08.12pm 19th April - Have been setting up the new mitre saw in the workshop, this now makes it easier for us to make bespoke frames that cannot be bought off the shelf so to speak. Typically this will be used to make 6ft or 7ft wooden stretcher bars.
11.32am - 3rd April - some sunshine at last - loving this weather, I feel some sunrise photography coming on.
16.34pm 21st March - today I've been out with the camera now that the flowers are starting to bloom, there's some buds appearing in the garden on the trees and Im thinking these will make some new flower canvases If I can manipulate them enough to make some brown wall art.
15.56pm 8th March - not much happening today, just been playing around with photoshop cs4 and some new digital art images.
10.00am 1st March - happy St Davids day! Im sure there's a bigger market for welsh prints. We need to expand on our mumbles and gower range of art.
11.15am 20th Feb - We are temporarily using a stanley staple gun to staple the canvas to the frames and stretcher bars.
14.12pm 17th Feb - The Staple gun is broke! - time to by yet another staple gun!! - I swear we go through these things way too fast!
12.30pm 8th Feb - Today we are printing greetings cards for some gift shops in Swansea. The cards are all DL and are of our gower photographs. These are now supplied to shops in Killay, Uplands, City Centre, Oyster Gallery in mumbles and swansea market.
17.41pm 30th Jan - Time to refill the inks again on the epson stylus pro 9600 which is a messy job as we are using clear cartridges in the printer. we have the ink level monitors turned off on a permanent basis and this allows for manual monitoring of the ink situation for each colour. It seems that light magenta is the colour that is of heaviest use. Not sure why, it just is! Using measuring jugs the inks can one by one be refilled using plastic funnels. This seems to last a good month of giclee printing with the clear carts holding more that the standard 220ml that you get from epson cartridges.
15.29pm 23th Jan - All the prints are now wrapped and bubble wrapped and boxed and are now awaiting todays collection from our courier. Its friday, so once this batch goes its time to start the weekend! although I expect I'll be monitoring some seo stuff late into the night as usual. Trying to get some keywords higher up the google rankings.
11.19am 21st Jan - Today is the day we get a brand new delivery of custom made boxes from those nice people at welsh boxes. Each box is double walled, so that delivery of the prints arrive without damage.
10.14 am 16th Jan - Having a very busy January so far with sales. The new floral art section seems to be a hit, beige lillies on canvas seems to be a huge hit and is one of our most popular sellers scince it was introduced as a canvas in November. We already had this in black and white, but the colour beige as wall art seems to be hugely popular for home decor at the moment, and the fact its a floral beige too.
16.12 am 13th Jan - Today we have taken delivery of our new super apple mac and photoshop cs4 - stunning piece of kit that will no doubt have our design team drooling all over it. It should make designing prints faster and smoother so that we can top up our website with more patterns and floral canvases and make the photoshop filters run a lot quicker when rendering the seascapes
16.12 am 10th Jan - Today its one giant peice of wall art. This print is huge! 7.5ft 3 part split canvas of worms head, Gower for a restaurant in Swansea. It looks stunning, we will be uploading the photos of it soon. You can almost wade into the sea for surf on this monster, the quality is superb, the resolution stunning and high enough to handle being blown up to this size. I took this particular image with my nikon d80 back in the summer.
09.52 am 05th Jan - Happy new year! - First day back - boo! well not really, after a relaxing 2 weeks off we are keen and eager to get back into the swing of things, a backlog of prints awaits us! well seven to be precise! - It never ceases to amaze me, for the last 4 years running we have made sales on xmas day, and some on boxing day! - haven't people got better things to do like watch the queens speech! nah - ordering a canvas print from us is much more exciting!
